Flanigan's Firearms

Among my many and varied interests you can include an interest in Firearms and gun ownership. This hobby started as a political pursuit supporting our 2nd Amendment rights through membership in the NRA and like minded organizations, and grew into a sporting interest, and has moved into a collector interest. Below are some of my favorite and special firearms with pictures and statistics on them.

I will add more as I have the time and inclination.

Pictures of my Desert Eagle

The Desert Eagle is a gas operated, locked breech weapon that uses stationary (but removable) barrel. Locking is achieved using the separate rotating bolt with four radial lugs that enter the breech of the barrel for engagement with respective cuts. Bolt is inserted into open-topped slide, which is operated using gas, which is bled from the bore through the small port drilled close to the chamber. Short stroke gas piston is located below the barrel closer to the muzzle, and gas chamber is linked to the gas port with long channel, bored below the barrel. Trigger is of single action type, with exposed hammer and ambidextrous safety, located at either side of the slide. Magazines are single stack, with different configuration for each major caliber. Sights are either fixed or adjustable, both front and rear being dovetailed into the barrel and slide respectively. Recently made pistols also had top of the barrel shaped to accept scope rings directly. The following movie was shot by a friend and co-worker of my firing the Desert Eagle on the pistol range.

P239 is a blowback-operated, locked breech design, with modified Browning-style linkless locking via slide ejection port. It has same DA or DAO trigger mechanism with striker pin safety, manual decocker (lever on the left side of the frame), slide stop. Slide is machined from solid steel. Frame is made from aluminum alloy.

P239 is reliable like all its bigger brothers from P22x family, and very accurate for its small size. It may be not so light, but packs a lot of firepower in compact package and is very popular as a concealed carry and police backup or off-duty gun.

The Ruger Mark III is a rimfire sem-automatic postol chambering a .22 long rifle manufactured by Sturm, Ruger & Company. It is the successor to the Ruger Mark II and is primarily aimed at the target and competition shooter. The series is arguably the world’s most popular rimfire auto pistol line. It is also the single most difficult firearm I have every had the (dis)pleasure of disassembling and reassembling.

Kel-Tec P3AT

Kel-Tec P3AT

Type: Double Action Only

Caliber: 380 Auto

Barrel length
: 2.745 inches

Width: 0.798 inches
Weight w/o magazine: 7.2 oz.

The P-3AT is a semi-automatic, locked breech pistol, chambered for the .380 Auto cartridges. The KEL-TEC P-3AT is probably one of the lightest and smallest .380 Auto pistol ever made. The P3AT is mainly intended for plainclothes police offices as a secondary weapon or for concealed carry by licensed citizens. The size, weight, and lack of an external hammer make it the ideal “pocket gun”.
